PTA-Funded Programs
We are fortunate to be able to implement so many improvements around the campus and enrichment programs with the generous contributions from our community. Check out all of our ongoing and completed projects below. And thank you for your continued support!
TK-3rd Grade Music Program
With 4th through 6th graders participating in VAPA, the PTA wanted to make sure TK through 3rd graders also had music in their curriculum. Each class gets to experience a 45-min weekly music lesson.
Art Masters Academy
At AHES, we believe in the important role that art plays in a well-rounded curriculum. The PTA sponsors 2-3 sessions per school year where an instructor from Art Masters Academy teaches the students about an influential artist and then the students create artwork in the style of that artist.
Fall Festival / BooFest
Bring the whole family along to celebrate the spookiest season of all at our annual Fall Festival! Enjoy trunk-or-treating, a chili cook-off, a carved pumpkin contest, cake walk, and a live DJ!
Talent Show
We always knew AHES was filled with talented students! What better way to showcase some of those talents than a talent show? The PTA hosted a talent show and everyone had so much fun cheering on each other as they took to the stage.
Reflections Art Contest
PTA Reflections is a nationally acclaimed student recognition program that encourages students artistic creativity in the classroom and home. PTA Reflections invites kids of all grades and abilities to get involved in the arts and explore their creative voice. We love seeing the amazing submissions from our students!
BooHoo/Yahoo Breakfast
Whether you are sad (BooHoo!) or excited (Yahoo!) for the new school year to start, we are here for you! The PTA hosts a BooHoo/Yahoo Breakfast right after drop-off on the first day of school so that parents can connect and kick-off the school year together.
Spring Dance
In the Spring, the PTA transforms the MPR into an unforgettable dance floor where students and their families can dance the night away!
Birthday Book Club
During your child's birthday (or half-birthday!) month, they can choose a book from a selection of grade-appropriate options, and your child's name will be permanently displayed on a book label inside the front cover, recognizing their contribution to the AHES library.
Student of the Month
Every month, each teacher selects a student who they feel embodies Panther PRIDE to be recognized at a surprise assembly. We are so proud of all of our students and love being able to celebrate them for being awesome!
Panther Picnic
At the Panther Picnic, families can join their child for a fun picnic-style lunch on the field. The students are always so excited to share this special time with their families!
Red Ribbon Week
At AHES, we support Red Ribbon Week’s mission to keep kids drug-free. For a week in October, students participate in activities that promote making healthy life choices.
Movie Night
In the Fall, we invite families to get their cozy blankets ready for Movie Night on the field! The PTA selects a family-friendly movie for everyone to enjoy.
Scholastic Book Fair
Every Spring, the PTA works with Scholastic to organize a week-long Book Fair. The students are always so excited to explore new books, and it is a great way for our school to earn money for teachers to expand their classroom libraries as well.
Magic Show
The PTA brought Brock Edwards Magic Extravaganza to AHES for an unforgettable evening of fantastic illusions and dazzling costumes. He even “cut” one of the teachers in half!
Lunch Tables
Completed Summer 2024
Thanks to the generous donations we received during the PTA fundraiser in Nov 2023, we were able to replace the old deteriorating lunch tables with 30 brand new lunch tables! We are so excited to be able to give the students something that they can utilize every day and will last for many many years.
Wall Hooks
Completed 2022
With the help of the Dad’s Club, the PTA was able to replace damage boards, install new boards where needed, and upgrade the hooks that students hang their backpacks on every day.
Hanging Wall Tiles
One of the ways the upper grades raise money for 6th grade activities is by offering a tile you can paint that will eventually be hung in the courtyard. The PTA coordinates with the Dad’s Club to get all of these up once they have been painted.
