Become a PTA Member

Your participation is crucial to the PTA’s mission of nurturing a supportive community where students and families can thrive both at school and at home.

Why do we need PTA Members?

  • Release funds for programs and events: While the Executive Board, Committee Chairs, and volunteers plan and run various programs and events, only the PTA Members have the power to release funds by voting to do so at our monthly meetings. Per our bylaws, we are required to have at least 16 voting members at our association meetings to conduct business.

  • Support our school: By becoming a PTA member, you are pledging your support for our PTA and for Anaheim Hills Elementary School. Having a healthy PTA membership and participation allows us to bring you the programs and events that make Anaheim Hills Elementary School special. You are not required to attend meetings or serve on a committee, but we strongly encourage participation, even if you can only spare a few hours.

  • Support the larger PTA organization: PTA membership dues go towards supporting every level of the PTA organization. Our school’s PTA is part of Orange Unified Council PTA (oversees OUSD), which is part of the 4th District PTA (oversees Orange County), which is part of California PTA, which is part of National PTA. Each level of the PTA provides us with training and resources to best serve our community.

If you have more questions about joining the PTA, you can check out our Frequently Asked Questions or submit a question via the form at the bottom of this page.

Annual Membership Cost: $12.40

What PTA Members Can Do

  • Discuss Issues Affecting the School

One of the core functions of the PTA is to address issues that affect students, families, and teachers. Whether it is trying to repair the school grounds, improve the safety of the campus, or enhance the programs offered to the students, the PTA is passionate about ensuring our students receive the education and experience that they deserve.

  • Cast Votes

Have you ever wondered how we decide where PTA funds get spent? The PTA Board works with the school and the District to decide how we will spend the money we have fundraised, but it is at the PTA meetings where all of the projects get the green light or not. PTA members cast votes to approve or disapprove where the money is being spent. PTA members also vote in the next year’s Executive Board.

  • Join a Committee

There are several committees required to run the programs we offer throughout the year. This includes programs such as the Book Fair, Fall Festival, Movie Night, Yearbook, and Spirit Wear. No special skills are required and many of the responsibilities can be done on your own time. The time commitment varies across the committees. These positions are held for the entire school year.

  • Learn About Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

The PTA Committees are always busy planning the next fun event for your students and family! Committee chairs will go over any updates they have, including where volunteers are still needed. This could include prep work or day-of support. If you’re not able to commit to a position, this is a great way to get involved, even if you only have a few hours to spare.
