Get Involved!
The PTA is dedicated to enriching the lives of the students and families at AHES, and we can’t do it alone! We rely on the generous donations of time and money from everyone in our community to bring all of the wonderful programs to life. Thank you for taking the time to learn about all the ways you can contribute!
How Can I Volunteer?
There are many opportunities to volunteer, whether it is a few hours a week or a few hours over the course of the entire school year. Any contribution is a huge help and makes a big impact in the students’ experience at AHES. All you need to volunteer is a little bit of time and a lot of heart!
Don’t feel comfortable committing to a position? No problem! We always need extra hands to help out at events or in classroom parties. The PTA and Room Parents will be sending out emails regarding these types of volunteer opportunities.
-
PTA Executive Board
The Executive Board is responsible for running the PTA, meeting with the school administration, communicating with the families, and determining how funds will be allocated. They oversee all of the committees, providing guidance and support as needed. The time commitment ranges from a few hours every two weeks, to several hours a week. These positions are held for the entire school year.
-
PTA Committee Chairs
There are several committees required to run the programs we offer throughout the year. This includes programs such as the Book Fair, Fall Festival, Movie Night, Yearbook, and Spirit Wear. No special skills are required and many of the responsibilities can be done on your own time. The time commitment varies across the committees. These positions are held for the entire school year.
-
Room Parents & Class Volunteers
Each classroom needs two parents to organize and run the 4 classroom parties and Teacher Appreciation Week activity for your class. This position is held for the entire school year.
If you would rather help out in the classroom on a bi-weekly or monthly basis (usually for 1 hour at a time), you can reach out to the teacher directly to ask about opportunities to volunteer..
-
Dad’s Club
The AHES Dad’s Club is a volunteer organization that works to assist students, staff and the PTA of Anaheim Hills Elementary. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year at events and for projects as needed. There is no formal time commitment so you can participate as much or as little as you are able.
Become a PTA Member!
-
Your participation is crucial to the PTA’s mission of nurturing a supportive community where students and families can thrive both at school and at home. As a PTA member, not only are you contributing financially to the PTA, but you have the ability to cast votes at PTA meetings and influence the decisions being made. You are not required to attend meetings or serve on a committee, but we strongly encourage participation even if you can only spare a few hours.
-
A PTA membership is $12.40, and must be renewed every year. AHES PTA receives about $5 from each membership. The money raised from PTA memberships goes towards various enrichment programs and campus improvements. Everyone in your family is eligible to register as a member so everyone can be involved!

Check out our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more about the PTA, monthly meetings, and what we do with the money we raise.
How Can I Donate?
We are able to offer so many wonderful programs and events thanks to the generous donations from our community. Any donation, no matter how big or small, makes a huge difference in the lives of the students!

Annually, the Executive Board determines a proposed budget for the coming school year. The PTA President and the Principal also review the budget and collaborate where funds are needed. The proposed budget is then presented to the PTA and voted on. Every month thereafter, the PTA reviews the budget. Any funds to be spent is voted on at the PTA meeting. All checks written are also ratified by the association. By being an AHES PTA member you are entitled to a vote at all AHES PTA meetings. You do not need to be a member to attend the meeting, however you must be a member to vote. You must be present at the meeting to vote.

The money raised by the PTA goes towards various enrichment programs and campus improvements. Some examples of previously funded programs include the music program, a new stage for the MPR, and new lunch tables. Click here to learn more about our funded & planned projects.

With traditional fundraising, organizations like ours generally retain only 10%-40% of the profit of sales. In other words, a $10 roll of wrapping paper would generate $1-$4 in benefit to your student. With a direct donation, a $10 donation yields $10 in benefit to your student (less credit card or PayPal transaction fees when applicable). For your convenience, you can make a donation via cash, check, credit card or through PayPal.
-
Become a Sponsor
With the partnership of community businesses and families over the last couple of years, we were able to purchase a stage for the school and new lunch tables for our students. Our goal is to continue this tradition of support but we cannot do it without you! We sincerely hope that you will consider being a sponsor.
-
Support Our Fundraisers
We run several fundraisers throughout the year to support PTA programs. Some examples of fundraisers include our PTA membership drive, Spirit Wear sales, a silent auction, Valentine grams to support a graduating class, and food sales at our on-campus events. Keep an eye out for communication from the PTA regarding upcoming fundraising events!
-
Make a Donation
Making a direct donation allows the PTA to avoid paying exorbitant processing fees and allocate more money towards enriching the lives of the students. We hold our main donation drive at the beginning of the year, but donations (no matter how big or small) are appreciated year-round.
Room Parents will also reach out separately for donations to fund classroom parties.
-
Teacher Wish Lists
Contribute directly to your child’s classroom by fulfilling an item from their teacher’s wish list. Most of the teachers have created an Amazon Wish List that you can find at the link below. Our librarian has also created an Amazon Wish List of books if you would like to purchase books for our library.
-
Cheddar Up
We are collecting donations through Cheddar Up, a site that allows us to safely take donations and pay minimal fees. No app download or account creation necessary.
-
Zelle
To make a donation via Zelle, please send the payment to President@ahespta.org.
Please include the student’s name and teacher in the note section so we know who to attribute the donation to.
