Welcome back AHES families!
It’s time for our annual Parent Teacher Association membership drive. There are other types of parent groups out there, but there is only one PTA! Connecting families and schools for more than 115 years, PTA is the largest children's advocacy organization in the country. Here are just a few reasons to join PTA:
MEMBERSHIP FEE: Your membership fee of $10.75 per person goes mostly to the district and state PTA to keep our school’s PTA active.
MEETINGS: We typically hold our meetings on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. via Zoom until we are able to return to campus. We try to keep them to an hour long while we run through upcoming events, determine how funds should be spent, talk about various school issues from teacher wish lists to ideas for new programs, and discuss advocacy and legislative topics impacting your child’s education. Occasionally we have special guests like our teachers and local organizations.
COMMUNICATION: We communicate with all the parents in a variety of ways. One of the best ways to stay up to date with PTA activities is to sign up for the PTA President’s weekly emails (see PTA President’s Page in this packet). You’ll also receive flyers in your children’s white communications folders that come home in their backpacks. All information is easily accessible by visiting our own web site at www.AHESPTA.org.
SOME OF THE EVENTS AND PROGRAMS WE FUND:
Please feel free to ask questions and share your thoughts. We look forward to enjoying the year with everyone! We hope that you all have the most remarkable year.
Thank you.

Connecting families and schools for more than 115 years, PTA is the largest children's advocacy organization in the country. Here are just a few reasons to join PTA:
- Get Connected. There's no better way to know what's happening in your school, or to develop a relationship with your child's teacher and principal.
- Discover Great Resources. The PTA offers a variety of programs and materials for students, parents, families, schools and communities.
- Speak Up. PTA gives you a "seat at the table" when important decisions are made about your child's school.
- Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTA member, you'll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
- Enjoy Substantial Benefits. PTA members enjoy exclusive member perks including discounts on school supplies, rental cars, wireless services and more. Go to http://toolkit.capta.org/membership/joining-pta/ to explore all PTA member benefits
- Make a Difference! By working together, PTA members have helped advance local, state and national laws and policies to improve the education, health and safety of all children.
